Affirmative Action – The Whole Truth – So Help Us God

Ward Connerly is the black UC Regent who was appointed by republican Governor, Pete Wilson of California to spearhead the Anti-Affirmative Action Initiative, Prop. #209 in California, in 1996.

Pete Wilson selected Ward Connerly as front-man for Prop. #209, because he (Wilson) believed a prominent black face would allay the skepticism of most whites, who would not vote for Prop. #209 if they believed it to be racist.

A similar sensitivity was revealing, on the part of Pete Wilson–when David Duke, former Klansman from Louisiana accepted an invitation in an on-campus debate on Prop. #209 at Cal State University, Northridge.

David Duke nationally known to oppose affirmative action, and of course, was an enthusiastic supporter of Prop. #209.

Pete Wilson and Ward Connerly held the same position and attitude to affirmative action and Prop. #209 as the Klansman, David Duke.

So why in the world would Gov. Pete Wilson use the full influence of his office to block David Duke from speaking against affirmative action and for Prop. #209? It would "blow their cover." White voters would see it for what it was–a political trick to get their votes.

But after spending millions of dollars spreading their propaganda through television, newspapers and right wing radio talk sows, white voters were inundated with an ambient snapshot of smiling Pete Wilson embracing that nice in-house colored boy, (Ward Connerly) while simultaneously delivering a swift kick to the white butt of the Louisiana Klansman, David Duke.

People voted for Prop. #209. The scam worked. It was great theater, but it was all one big lie as we will show.

Here is the Whole Truth. The Wednesday, Sept. 11, 1996 edition of the Los Angeles Times, Part #3, Page 3 carried an article entitled, "The Curtain pulled back, for a moment," by Peter H. King. Self-explanatory excerpts from the article follow below:

"Every so often the wizards of politics will slip. They will get clumsy or cocky or just plain unlucky and let the curtain flap open just long enough for the audience to see their magic for the sham that it is. One such moment occurred last Friday.

Sixty or so California business executives, most of them Republican stalwarts, received an invitation to participate in a "confidential" teleconference with Gov. Pete Wilson and House Speaker Newt Gingrich. The topic was Proposition 209, the ballot initiative that would eliminate public-sector affirmative programs.

During the conference, a pitch by Wilson and Gingrich that sounded nothing like the rhetoric typically unfurled by proponents of Proposition 209. There was no selective quoting of Martin Luther King Jr., no fancy talk of a bipartisan campaign to create "a colorblind society" and cure racism. No they had come to ask for money–and they cut right to the nitty gritty about Proposition 209.

In the 20-minute, one-way teleconference–The Governor and Gingrich provided a short course on the charms of wedge politics. "It's become a partisan issue," Wilson said of Proposition 209, ... that works strongly to our advantage."

Wilson reminded the CEOs' of Proposition 187, the immigration initiative he rode so well to reelection. Proposition 209, he said, "has every bit the potential to make a critical difference in the race for (Dole) and House members. There is a real analogy between the experience two years ago in 1994 when I was seeking reelection and Proposition 187 was on the ballot."

California business leaders, Republicans and Democrats alike, have been reluctant to contribute to the Proposition 209 campaign. Wilson's implicit point was that they were looking at it all wrong. It was not necessary for them to ponder the merits of affirmative action. Rather, they should regard the initiative simply as a GOP tool to drag down Bill Clinton, indirectly throw money Bob Dole's way, and help elect Republicans up and down the ticket.

"From my vantage point," Gingrich said, "the California Civil Rights Initiative is vital because we have to be competitive in California to keep control of the house. We could have a swing from plus-three to minus-four, just in California. If [Proposition 209] is still ahead by a dramatic margin [late in the campaign], Clinton has to take his time and money out of three Midwest to put in California. He can't win the presidency without winning California. I think this is as important as any single resource in the campaign."

"This is a cold-hearted, cynical, deceitful, egregious betrayal and abuse of trust–this is truly a capital act of incestual political date rape of white voters, committed by Gov. Pete Wilson and Newt Gingrich, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representative."

Here we have it from the "horse's mouth"–actually, two horses: Gov. Pete Wilson and Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Newt Gingrich–saying that the issue of Affirmative Action and Prop. #209 should be regarded simply as a GOP tool to drag down Bill Clinton and get money to elect Republicans up and down the ticket. We know, as was suspected, that Prop. 209 was only generated for political purposes and did not arise from legitimate complaints of victimized Whites.

This is a textbook example of our effort, method and overall goal to communicate the whole truth on race to the white people of the United States.

The "Crusade" through its non-confrontational information and education program–if supported–will place race-card politicians on a slowly revolving platform, in full view of the white public, where we'll unhurriedly defrock them–one dirty garment after the other–until finally, we remove from the flabby politician, the last fig leaf of deception–Race!!

Thus exposing them (politicians) in all their ugly, shriveled nakedness to the eyes of a jury of their peers–the white voters of the United States.

The "Crusaders" will respectfully leave the verdict to that jury.
