Today there are over 500 web sites in this country which explicitly or implicitly state that black people are the cause of societiy's woes. They claim lazy blacks on welfare are a drain on hardworking whites (see The Whole Truth vs. The Big Lie). The scapegoading runs the range from the blunt openly racist Aryan Nation and various Skin Head groups, to more sophisticated and subtle attacks from politicians eager to redirect the frustration and anger of their constituants. In 1998, while speaking in front of the Black Men in Unions Conference at the University of Michigan (sponsored by the Labor Studies Group of the University of Michigan) Ernest C. Dillard, Sr. raised the need for a response to these lies and misrepresentations by the black community. To that end, he started “The African American Committee to Communicate the Whole Truth on Race to the White People of the United States.” The group has since been renamed “The Task Force to Communicate the Whole Truth on Race to the White People of the United States” to better reflect its desire to include people of all races in the fight against racism. Our desire is to convey the Whole Truth so that voters can make decisions that are truly in their own best interests. To further this goal we have created this web site; and organized a speakers bureau who are available to talk to interested civic groups or other organizations. With your support, we plan to expand these efforts in the crusade against racism. |
